We need a midfielder like Barella who can create and ochestrate play for our forward line and bang in the occasional goal when needed. Thiago with all his qualities is just too injury prone and we cant be relying on the likes of Hendo, Milner or Keita to consistently unlock teams throughout the season. Anybody with a functioning set of eyes can see our midfield has been our weakest link for a number of years now. We need to upgrade asap!

I think this is becoming a shambles. The majority of the injured players are injured most of the time. Keita plays a game or two then disappears for a month. A new midfielder (even 2!) have been needed for about 18 months. Jones and Elliott are not midfielders who will get into the opposition. That leaves Fab, Hen, Thiago, Keita and Milner. These guys are not going to play 3 games a week. Furthermore, we saw last week our best midfielders get done for pace again and again. And I always say, when I have a rant, I hope I’m proved completely wrong.

From watching Elliot i feel he will do better if he plays on the left side of the midfield. He tends to want to cross the ball than play a through ball. He creativity is similarly to Henderson only calm on the ball. So i believe elliot Henderson and fabinho will be good

Kieta needs the boot I think he’s been given his chance and has proved he isn’t good enough, he’s more injury prone than a disabled dog and only has good games against lower opposition. I just think he isn’t good enough we need to cut out losses with him and get him out in January if he isn’t performing and look at a promising replacement besides Bellingham.

But I do think we need 1 proven midfielder that can lift the team like Thiago did. Let’s be honest Keita and the ox definitely not the answer . Frankly I would rather have minamino than these 2. They’re good but injuries and inconsistency due to injury ruining them and we can’t afford to have that let alone 2 of them. Thiago is a world class talent still can’t believe we have him but he’s getting older and sadly an injury prone. Hendo and Milner not that young either. Elliot, carvalho and Jones still young and exciting but I wouldn’t put excitement first before winning. Yes 3 of them could have breakthrough season but not a guarantee. Just hope we sign 1 proven midfielder before the transfer window shuts. If not then just hope our youngsters do a Trent.

It's not about the quality of midfield, it's about his availability since every midfielder we have is prone to injury, All of them .. we need a midfielder like Gini was to us who was versatile and can play the full 90 minutes in all season's game. The only reliable young midfielder we have is Bajetic, he's just great but not yet proven, talking about Harvey and Jones, Jones is just inconsistent and he's been like this for a while .. and Harvey isn't even a midfielder, his style of player is of a winger but no one can replace Salah unfortunately. We better buy a midfielder before the transfer window ends or we're screwed.
