The trophy doesn't matter.. It's the win against Man City's first team which does. Should be a huge confidence booster ahead of the season. And we'll have to get results like this in the league as well if we want to win!

Henderson won the lot. Given all the doubters over the years I’m really pleased to see him do this. He’s the right man to captain this Klopp team, and, as he showed today, still playing at the required high level

Salah had a great game. Assist for the first goal, set up the Nunez header for the penalty, scored the penalty, and then crossed it to Robertson for the assist to Nunez. Salah won us this game, but our midfield and lack of options got badly exposed again. We need another midfielder.

@youssef Mohamed Carvalho started the attack that led to Nunez's third goal and was influential throughout, including getting the ball to Salah. Thiago also played a huge part in our build-up throughout the game. Our midfield is *not* made to score, but to cover our fullback as they drive forward, to win the ball back, and make those passes to our wide players. They are involved in goals, but nobody really cares about it since they didn't get the goal/assist.

Nunez with a fantastic debut really showing how dangerous and effective he can be. Salah was incredible once again. Time and time again shows why he is irreplaceable. Diaz worked his socks off and was great today. Thiago and Fab were brilliant also. Fantastic confidence boost for the team as the season begins. Very interested to see what Klopp does with Fabio, his cameo was wonderful to see.
