Thanks for all the kind comments. Update to those who are asking. My Grandad Charlie is now 97 years old, still fighting fit, watched Liverpool win the champions league last week and is looking forward to LFC hopefully winning the league next season!

Update: Grandad was 99 last Thursday! He’s fit and well and was delighted when LFC lifted the cup last year. A little disappointed with their recent form but still loves them.

xAA7 Advert or not it's still an amazing gesture to fans. No one expects the club to do things like this because football is now seen as companies and fans are seen as customers, so to reach out to fans like this to give them kits early is very nice, it makes them feel like the club care rather than the mind set of becoming a consumer.

I'm an Everton fan since 1959. But I must say I enjoyed watching Ian St John and Charlie. It is great seeing a true Red getting a visit from a great guy that Charlie saw play many times with a new Liverpool top. Glad Charlie is ok and yep he’ll see them win the league again, very soon. Mourning the loss of my Dad passing on 18th Dec 2019 was 95 years young and a Fulham season ticket holder up to 3 years ago. I miss him so much! Would have been 96 2 weeks ago. He was much like Charlie. A proper fan. That’s what bought me to here. All the best Charlie.

I'm 63 now and a real big Liverpool fan on the other side of the Atlantic....married an Evertonian....I won't hold that against her...lol and to see this story......well it's warmed me heart.
