Liverpool and Chelsea observe a minute's applause in memory of Gary Speed on what was clearly an emotional night for Craig Bellamy.

Anyone else get chills when the crowd started singing "one Gary Speed"?

You mean when the Liverpool fans started singing “one Gary Speed”... even though he played for that other club, best fans in the country! But yes we all get chills.

Gary Speed was the man that got me into football and when I learned that he was Welsh, that just made me ridiculously happy. I watched him Captain our national team with pride and drag us through many games, I had the pleasure of seeing him manage our national side and take us to a totally different level. He made us believe that we could be successful and not also rans who would never get to a major tournament. He meant so much to many, I am just so saddened that he perhaps felt too ashamed to reach out for help when he needed it the most. We will never forget him, always missed Speedo x

Yes especially when you see ex footballers like Paul merson, Jason mcateer, gascoigne talk about their struggles now so openly. I wish he'd talked more, he was always a shy bloke, don't think he ever did much interviews on tv, just went about his business and maybe did the odd events organised by clubs he was at, he was more about the fans than satisfying the media. It was frightening to hear someone of such a high profile commit suicide with no kind of hint of that he was struggling. R.i.p Gary speed

RIP! I loved my first times watching Premier League, with so many players and clubs i liked and admired. And there was Gary... playing for Leeds, for Newscastle, even Bolton... always a example for me. A veteran, a leader. I don't understand why... it's just too sad, to difficult to get. I just hope the best for his family, friends, workmates... From Portugal and from a Benfica fan

He's the first player to reach 500 games, he's the first player to retire with a league goal per season. He was an inspiration for kids, a role model, both on and off the pitch, as a player and as a person. It's not only football's loss, it's everyone's loss. Craig, Gary will never walk alone with a friend like you., he must be glad to see you play from a faraway place.

The story goes that Craig Bellamy got wasted after the game, being as upset as he was. Him and players both sides ended up in a local karaoke bar. Craig gave a rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I have nothing’ - which he dedicated to Speed. It was so powerful that it led to a standing ovation from all players in attendance. Just a lovely gesture.

@pasindug17 I was at the game and the Chelsea fans joined in singing 'Only one Gary Speed' at the start. They were very respectful. Bellamy was booed when he came off because no one likes Bellamy. Nothing to do with Gary Speed. Why did Liverpool fans sing this at that point? Will he forever be reminded? "Bellamy ...w**k w**k w**k. Bellamy ... w**k w**k w**k"
