As good as they were, how could anyone look beyond the 3 defenders, Milner, Gomez & VVD? This wasn’t the usual topsy tervy match we have against City, this was a backs to the wall on the back foot for the majority of the game performance. Salah was great on the counter but those 3 did far more, not so much more than Alisson given his saves too, but those 3 were the best players on the pitch

One of my favourite moments of the match was when Guardiola fell to his knees the very instant Salah spinned Cancelo and turned with the ball. He knew for sure that Salah was going to score.

The goal was amazing!! The ball was passed from Ali to Mo as if the two were playing alone, Mo controlled it in 3 merged moves (denied Cancello with his body, spined and killed the ball to the ground with left foot), the 4th move (pushed the ball forward and with his insane speed) made himself in front of the gool alone ahead of City players chasing him in vain, the 5th touch was to keep the situation as is and to bring him closer to the goal, the 6th touch ends that ferry tail which happened within 7 seconds only. legends like salah, messi and maradona create their own luck. they make opposing defenders losing their balance, becoming confused or making poor positioning in defensive areas. it was not a lucky bounce or the opposing defender slipped, it was a calculated move all the way. these super talented players are really that good.

Honestly when I saw Milner and Gomez in defence I thought we were in for a long night, but they, and every other player played out of their skin. Incredible performance and the best game of football I've seen for ages. It didn't lag for a second.

Great win but the fronts (Nunez and Salah), need to show more team work instead of going for glory. Could have won at by 3-4 goals at least. Great performance by the defence and the rest of the team as well.
